According to edmunds for the 2005 GMC Sierra 1500.

Quadrasteer is no longer available on 2WD models, standard wheel sizes have been bumped up to 17 inches and, on extended and crew cab models, a power sunroof that includes HomeLink and a deluxe overhead console in now optional. GMC takes a step backward this year with the return of rear drum brakes, as opposed to last years four-wheel disc setup.

Big changes for the Denali this year -- Quadrasteer is no longer available, and the Denali is now a crew cab model only. A gasoline/electric hybrid model is also introduced this year. Basically a "mild" hybrid, the system provides no power boost, but does allow for automatic engine startup and shutdown at stops. This truck also comes with four 120-volt AC power outlets and is the only Silverado with rear disc brakes this year. The hybrid truck is only available in Western states and Florida.

According to edmunds for the 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.

4.8 V8 is tough, just as good as the 5.3 minus the extra torque. I test drove the V6 and found it to be poor. Wish I had a back cab at times, but the tonneau cover does fine when i strap things in. Bought this truck used with 20K on it. Havent done much to it except air and oil filters/oil. The previous owner installed performance exhaust which roars and gives extra HP. I put on 17" 2007 avalanche wheels and 265 70 R A/T tires. Put on rear air lift suspension (airbags) and have been hauling anything from dirt, rock, stone, furniture, appliances, and tow a 5250lb boat/trailer. Its a half ton but with the bags i can easily load 1750 as i have scaled it at landscape vehicle scale.

Favorite Features
RELIABILITY!!! Takes a beating, very quick, good on gas for its rated HP/Torque, shines nice when its clean when im out on the town

Suggested Improvements
I wish the truck had sliding back window and the optional fold down middle seat organizer. In winter, about 6-12 times i wish i have 4 wheel drive but found it wouldnt be worth it. I load it with salt and it does fine.

2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Owners Manual - Halo ladies and gentleman welcome to Owners Manual blog. You are now reading the info about 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Owners Manual. According to edmunds for the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Now into its third year of the current design, Chevrolet has worked out the Silverados kinks, earning it a reputation as a fast and comfortable truck. With class-leading engine power and clean looks, Chevrolets bestseller promises to further improve its image with innovative features that make it a unique truck in the otherwise bland world of half-ton pickups.

For the first time ever, Chevrolet is offering the PRO TEC truck box on its extended cab 4X4s with the Z71 option. A factory alternative to an aftermarket bedliner, this all-composite box is 50 pounds lighter than its steel counterpart. It offers protection from dents and scratches along with superior resistance to corrosion. The tailgate is also lighter for easier opening and closing while its load-carrying capacity increases to 1,000 lbs. compared to 600 lbs. for the steel version.

Several engine choices are available for Silverado, ranging from a 4.3-liter V6 to a 5.3-liter V8. Most buyers select 4800 and 5300 Vortec V8 engines, generating 270 and 285 horsepower respectively. Automatics come equipped with a tow-haul mode that improves performance under heavy loads.

Holding all this together is a three-section frame that is stiff, light and easy to assemble, giving the big truck a smooth ride and a quiet interior. State-of-the-art steering, suspension and braking systems help make driving the Silverado a joy. Four-wheel disc antilock brakes are standard, and steering feel is tight for a large truck, thanks in part to the power rack-and-pinion gear on models under 6,400 GVWR. Electronic traction assist is now available for 2WD models for those who dont want the added expense and complexity of four-wheel drive.

What is the consumer reviews for the 1991 GMC Sierra 1500 according to edmunds?

I used to drive this truck hard every day as a ranch truck. It has been the best performing 1/2 ton 4X4 I have ever owned. There is currently 340000 miles on the original 350 engine, and it still passes CA smog tests with flying colors. The auto tranny has to be rebuilt every 100000mi. Have had electrical problems with lights and the heater controls. Other than that this is a nice truck for the year and money.

Independant front suspension. Factory skid plates that protect everything (You should look under some of the brand new 4X4 trucks out there.).
